A Hidden Gem! New Japanese Restaurant in Alameda

Who would’ve thought! I found a newly opened Japanese restaurant in Alameda. I didn’t have high expectations at first, but it totally blew me away🤩! All the Japanese restaurants I usually go to open at 5 PM. This time, I stumbled upon this new spot with more flexible opening hours. I also knew in advance that it’s run by Cantonese owners—to be honest, I was worried the flavor would be more Cantonese-style and not authentic Japanese food. I just went for convenience, but ended up getting a pleasant surprise! The overall experience was super satisfying. The ingredients are incredibly fresh💥, and the cost-effectiveness is great (The restaurant name and specific prices are in the last picture—help yourselves, guys~)! Two of us ordered two signature dishes and ate until we were stuffed! 🍣 Omakase (10 pieces) The chef’s hand-held omakase is full of sincerity. Each piece is substantial, with fresh fish that’s juicy and melts in your mouth—who can resist that texture! The acidity of the rice vinegar is just right, perfectly blending with the freshness of the fish. One bite is so comforting~ 🍚 Hashi Kaisen Don (Seafood Bowl) Special praise for this seafood bowl! Compared to the omakase, it’s more cost-effective—absolute paradise for foodies👍! The bowl is covered with fresh seafood, with generous portions of sashimi. The rice is soaked in a special sauce; every bite after mixing has the freshness of seafood and the aroma of rice. One bowl per person is both affordable and filling—I’ll definitely order this combination next time! 🥢 Veggie Tempura The only minor downside is this veggie tempura. It’s decent but not outstanding—the outer skin isn’t crispy enough, lacking the crunchy texture that tempura should have. But it’s not a failure either, still acceptable~ One more reminder: The serving speed is a bit slow⏳. If you’re in a hurry, it’s recommended to go early or avoid peak hours to avoid the double wait of queuing for a table and waiting for food! Overall, I’m really satisfied! Fresh ingredients, great taste, and good value for money. Although there are minor flaws, it doesn’t affect my determination to revisit. It has been added to my Alameda Japanese food collection list✅! 📍 Restaurant Name & Prices: See the last picture #TodayShare #BayArea #BayAreaFood #BayAreaLife #BayAreaWeekend #BayAreaJapaneseFood #AlamedaEats #HiddenGemJapaneseRestaurant
