Bay Area Kid & Dog Adventure|Alameda One-Day Trip
Early morning, we set off from the South Bay and headed straight to the Alameda Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal to take the ferry to San Francisco. The terminal offers free parking, and the scenery is beautiful with fewer crowds. Both Clipper cards and credit cards can be used directly to board the ferry. The open-air seats on the second floor are very comfortable, but the wind is a bit strong—remember to wear a hat! ⚠️ Note: The Seaplane Ferry only operates on weekdays; check the schedule on the official website. 🚢 It took about 15 minutes to reach downtown SF. After disembarking, we went to Ferry Building for a delicious lunch at the spot Lunette. We wandered around a bit before taking the ferry back. Right next to the Seaplane Terminal is the USS Hornet, where the kids had a blast playing. 🦀 Next stop was Crab Cove. The visitor center is fantastic. Although there aren’t many fish, they are all local species. This was our first time seeing sharks and moray eels up close! Crab Cove is a birdwatcher’s paradise with various bird species and vast mudflats. Since we brought our dog and couldn’t go into the water, we plan to visit again with the kids alone next time. 🐶 Near Crab Cove, there is a large dog park and a state beach, along with various sports facilities and a playground. The dog can play in the dog park, and the kids can have fun in the playground—both fully exhausted! 🌙 We had dinner at Kame (Kame Maru Ramen) when it got dark. The shopping mall has many stores, with ample outdoor dining space, and it’s dog-friendly. A short walk away is a small but fun playground, where the kids had another round of fun. On the way home, both the kids and the dog fell asleep. The parents were so happy! #Alameda #BayAreaKidFriendly #DogFriendly #FamilyTrip #SFAdventure
