A Hidden Gem for Dates
This Mexican bar is located near Chicago’s Chinatown, and it truly feels like a well-kept secret — from the outside, it looks just like an ordinary house, with no sign of the romantic speakeasy vibe inside! 🍲 Chicken Soup with radish and cabbage. The chicken, soaked in the broth, was incredibly tender. On a cold winter day, a warm bowl like this truly warms you from the inside out. ❤️🔥 🌮 Mushroom/Duck/Lamb Tacos — surprisingly, the mushroom one was super delicious! 🐟 Grilled Sea Bass with crispy skin and tender flesh. The green sauce had soaked perfectly into the fish, making it super flavorful. 😋🍃 🍐 Dessert: Pear Crumble — made with small pieces of pickled pear and crumble topping. It felt a bit sticky in the throat, so not my favorite. This place truly offers both great vibes and great flavors! Although the menu isn’t huge, it’s perfect for a date night with drinks. 🥂💕 I noticed they also have a Mexican burger on the menu — seems interesting and worth trying next time! 📞 Currently, reservations are only available by phone or email — reminds me of the 40 minutes I spent waiting on hold to book Chef’s Table in the past… Hopefully they’ll open online reservations soon! 📍 Cerdito Muerto 1700 S Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60608 #ChicagoLife #ChicagoEats #HiddenGem #SpeakeasyBar #DateNightChicago #MexicanFood
