A Hidden Gem Museum in Chicago

✨I managed to visit a private museum near the downtown area, not far from Northwestern University's medical school, during a weekday break. This museum was originally a private mansion built by the Nicholson family in the late 19th century. Upon entering through the grand doors, one is greeted by a marble lobby and corridors.✨ ✨On either side, there are interconnected powder rooms, a library, a reception room, and a banquet hall. Each room is decorated in different styles according to its main users and is furnished with very ornate furniture and utensils, including diamond-encrusted inkstands and Tiffany glassware, which fully display the owner's status and position at the time. To highlight their unique artistic atmosphere, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson also hung their collected paintings in various rooms and galleries for decoration.✨ ✨The Nicholsons' residence can be said to showcase the pinnacle of Chicago's art and technology at the time! I highly recommend it to those with ample time to visit, and even those working at Northwestern University's medical school can take an hour off during their experimental breaks to stroll and explore. ✨ #ChicagoLife #ChicagoMuseums #ChicagoWeekend #ChicagoStudyAbroad #NorthwesternUniversityChicago #MuseumVisit
