💭 A Surprising Day in Kansas City!

Today was spent entirely in Kansas City, a really interesting city—it actually spans across both Missouri and Kansas, but the downtown area and most of the attractions are on the Missouri side (yes, you read that right, it's called "Kansas City" but it's not in Kansas 😆). It's said that the city on the Missouri side was established first, and later Kansas had a city with the same name, so there's always been a bit of a "which one is the real one" vibe haha. Overall, it felt like a smaller version of Los Angeles—hilly, with a strong cultural vibe, and full of surprises✨. 🌟 Our itinerary was pretty chill. We slept in and didn't head out until noon. The first stop was the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. This museum is truly a hidden gem! It has a rich collection without being ostentatious, with original works by Monet, Van Gogh, Gauguin, and Cézanne. The European, Egyptian, and East Asian sections are all worth exploring. Highly recommended: The Water Moon Guanyin statue paired with the mural behind it has an incredibly strong visual impact; The Northern Wei stone carvings and Ming-Qing furniture, just as recommended by Ma, are spot on; The large lawn behind the museum has giant badminton rackets, which are perfect for photoshoots📸 and also great for walking your dog. Spent about 2-3 hours there, which was just right—neither tiring nor rushed, but very fulfilling. #Dallas #KansasCity #WaterMoonGuanyin
