A Taste of Charleston: Southern Flavors & Salty Bites 🧂🍴
Charleston’s food scene is full of character – and salt! Here’s a roundup of my flavorful (and sometimes very salty) culinary adventures: 1️⃣ 82 Queen We tried the crab soup, chicken liver, soft shell crab, and jambalaya. Everything was delicious – but extremely salty! 😅 🦀 Soft Shell Crab – crispy, well-seasoned, and our favorite (still salty though). 🍗 Chicken Liver – rich and creamy over flavorful grits. 🥘 Jambalaya – tasty, but we needed lots of water between bites. 💡 Great for salt lovers – but come prepared! 2️⃣ The Pineapple Hut 🍍 Refreshing pineapple soft-serve with pineapple juice at the bottom. Not too sweet, with a sorbet-like texture – a perfect treat on a warm day! 3️⃣ 167 Raw Oyster Bar 🦪 Lucky visit – no wait at 1:30 PM on a rainy day! Oysters – incredibly fresh and silky. Calamari – good, but not super crispy. Crab Roll – delicious as expected. Lavender Fog 🍹 – light, floral, and refreshing. Santorini Sunburn – pretty but not great in taste. 4️⃣ Lewis Barbecue Charleston 🍖 Lived up to the hype! Brisket, ribs, and sausage were smoky, tender, and perfectly cooked. Sides were generous – great value! Two girls shared ~1 lb of meat + 1 sausage – just right. 5️⃣ The Griffon 💵 A pub covered in dollar bills – so unique! Fried Shrimp & Buffalo Yakitori Chicken – both flavorful. French Fries – extra crispy with tangy house ketchup. 6️⃣ La Pâtisserie 🍰 A local favorite for pastries – and for good reason! Ruby Cake – sweet but not heavy, with beautiful layered flavors. Charleston stole our hearts (and challenged our sodium intake)! ❤️ Go thirsty and hungry – you’ll eat well here! #CharlestonEats #SouthernFood #SaltyButGood #OysterBar #BBQLovers #SweetEndings #FoodReview #TravelDining
