Charleston Travel Notes π
After visiting the Angel Oak Tree, we drove to downtown Charleston. π¦ First tip: bring bug spray & anti-itch cream! I thought leaving Florida meant no mosquitoes, but Charleston's are next level β I got bitten just waiting for the crosswalk! βοΈ I visited in early August, and wow β it was hot. Like, Xiβan-level hot. Iβm from Florida and still found it unbearable. ποΈ First stop: Pineapple Fountain It was smaller than I imagined, and the park was cozy. Lots of kids were splashing in the two-tiered pool β not what I expected π Still, itβs a city landmark. Even though itβs just a pineapple, I was happy to finally see it in person! π Rainbow Row The pastel houses were cute, but harder to photograph from the street than I thought. The whole downtown area felt romantic though β full of flowers, colorful rooftops, and churches. Perfect for a bachelorette trip! ποΈ Shopping & Sightseeing The Old Slave Mart Museum was closed when I arrived π β go earlier if you want to visit! Lots of cute local shops for souvenirs, and great shopping too β from Louis Vuitton to Lululemon, all on one street! π½οΈ Dining: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar Went during happy hour π¦ͺ The fried calamari salad was delicious! Oysters were okay β August isnβt the best season, so they werenβt super plump. #Charleston #TravelUSA #PineappleFountain #RainbowRow #HistoricDowntown #SouthernHeat #FoodieNotes #SummerTravel #ExploreCharleston #TravelTips
