Charleston Travel Notes 🍍

After visiting the Angel Oak Tree, we drove to downtown Charleston. 🦟 First tip: bring bug spray & anti-itch cream! I thought leaving Florida meant no mosquitoes, but Charleston's are next level – I got bitten just waiting for the crosswalk! β˜€οΈ I visited in early August, and wow – it was hot. Like, Xiβ€˜an-level hot. I’m from Florida and still found it unbearable. πŸ›οΈ First stop: Pineapple Fountain It was smaller than I imagined, and the park was cozy. Lots of kids were splashing in the two-tiered pool – not what I expected πŸ˜„ Still, it’s a city landmark. Even though it’s just a pineapple, I was happy to finally see it in person! 🌈 Rainbow Row The pastel houses were cute, but harder to photograph from the street than I thought. The whole downtown area felt romantic though – full of flowers, colorful rooftops, and churches. Perfect for a bachelorette trip! πŸ›οΈ Shopping & Sightseeing The Old Slave Mart Museum was closed when I arrived πŸ•’ – go earlier if you want to visit! Lots of cute local shops for souvenirs, and great shopping too – from Louis Vuitton to Lululemon, all on one street! 🍽️ Dining: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar Went during happy hour πŸ¦ͺ The fried calamari salad was delicious! Oysters were okay – August isn’t the best season, so they weren’t super plump. #Charleston #TravelUSA #PineappleFountain #RainbowRow #HistoricDowntown #SouthernHeat #FoodieNotes #SummerTravel #ExploreCharleston #TravelTips
