Charleston Travel Notes ๐Ÿ

After visiting the Angel Oak Tree, we drove to downtown Charleston. ๐ŸฆŸ First tip: bring bug spray & anti-itch cream! I thought leaving Florida meant no mosquitoes, but Charleston's are next level โ€“ I got bitten just waiting for the crosswalk! โ˜€๏ธ I visited in early August, and wow โ€“ it was hot. Like, Xiโ€˜an-level hot. Iโ€™m from Florida and still found it unbearable. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ First stop: Pineapple Fountain It was smaller than I imagined, and the park was cozy. Lots of kids were splashing in the two-tiered pool โ€“ not what I expected ๐Ÿ˜„ Still, itโ€™s a city landmark. Even though itโ€™s just a pineapple, I was happy to finally see it in person! ๐ŸŒˆ Rainbow Row The pastel houses were cute, but harder to photograph from the street than I thought. The whole downtown area felt romantic though โ€“ full of flowers, colorful rooftops, and churches. Perfect for a bachelorette trip! ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Shopping & Sightseeing The Old Slave Mart Museum was closed when I arrived ๐Ÿ•’ โ€“ go earlier if you want to visit! Lots of cute local shops for souvenirs, and great shopping too โ€“ from Louis Vuitton to Lululemon, all on one street! ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Dining: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar Went during happy hour ๐Ÿฆช The fried calamari salad was delicious! Oysters were okay โ€“ August isnโ€™t the best season, so they werenโ€™t super plump. #Charleston #TravelUSA #PineappleFountain #RainbowRow #HistoricDowntown #SouthernHeat #FoodieNotes #SummerTravel #ExploreCharleston #TravelTips
