Day Trip to Charleston | A Charming Southern Getaway 🥳
I visited Charleston in January and fell in love with this enchanting Southern city! Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience classic American charm. 🕙 Ideal Duration: 1–3 days A day is enough for a taste, but pair it with Savannah for a perfect 3-day trip! 1️⃣ USS Yorktown CV-10 🚢 A must-see decommissioned aircraft carrier turned museum! 🎟️ Ticket: $27 per person | 🅿️ Parking: Free (was supposed to be $5, but no one collected it!) 📌 The carrier is huge – there are 4 tour routes. The first two take 20–30 mins each, the last two about 10 mins. 📸 Don’t miss the flight deck – perfect for photos with views of the river, cargo ships, and the bridge! 2️⃣ Rainbow Row & Historic Streets 🌈 Stroll through the historic district – Rainbow Row’s colorful houses and bustling King Street are full of character! 🚐 Consider a carriage tour with Old South Carriage Company for a guided experience. 🅿️ Street parking is tough – I recommend the affordable lot near the Pineapple Fountain. 3️⃣ Pineapple Fountain 🍍 The iconic landmark located in Waterfront Park – a must for photos! 🍽 Food Review ❌ Magnolias – Overpriced and not impressive. Reservations needed. ✅ Pearlz Oyster Bar – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Rockefeller Baked Oysters! Great value & flavor. 🏨 Stay in Mt Pleasant – It’s closer to the USS Yorktown, easier to park, and more budget-friendly. We loved Springhill Suites Mt Pleasant – got upgraded to a bridge view room for just $150/night! 🌅 Sadly missed the sunset cruise & water taxi – but you should try it! #Charleston #DayTrip #TravelUSA #SouthernCharm #USSYorktown #RainbowRow #PineappleFountain #HistoricDistrict #TravelTips #ExploreSouthCarolina
