Alaska Food Journal | Part 1 🦀
Alaska wasn’t as icy as expected — but the food scene definitely delivered! Writing this down before I forget, hoping it helps fellow food lovers~ 📍 Wild Scoops @ Anchorage 🍦 Pretty but Rich Ice Cream The Baked Alaska (waffle cone + torched marshmallow) is super photogenic 📸 Flavor-wise, it’s quite sweet and heavy — not exactly “adventurous” as described, but worth it for the looks! 📍 Moose Tooth @ Anchorage 🍕 Thank you, Xiaohongshu, for This Gem! Would never have thought to eat pizza in Alaska without seeing it online 🤣 Lives up to its “Top 3 in the US” rep — cheesy, crispy crust, and crazy good value! Feels like a $30 meal for just over $10 ✨ 📍 Aurora Winter Train 🚂 Train Food Better Than Expected! Low expectations, pleasant surprise~ 🦌 Reindeer Sausage is tasty, especially with snowy views outside ❄️ 📍 Pike’s Landing @ Fairbanks 🏨 Cozy Spot by the Hotel 🦀 Crab Mushrooms buttery and flavorful~ 🍸 But the “Aurora Gin” is a Scam! Description says “like dancing aurora” with pretty photos — turns out it’s just a drink with a flashing LED ice cube… 😡 (Silver lining: you get to keep the cute cup!) 📍 Chowder House @ Fairbanks 🌟 The Best Meal of the Trip! 🦀 Crab Sandwich absolutely made my day! Great price ($30-40) and generous portions~ 🐟 Halibut Chowder so good even a non-chowder-person finished it 🥹 ☕️ But DO NOT order the latte! No matter how sweet the server describes it — it’s teeth-achingly sweet! 🙅🏻♀️ ✨ More Alaska food finds in the next post — stay tuned! #AlaskaFood #Anchorage #Fairbanks #FoodTravel #FoodReview
