Wild Scoops is a fantastic local ice cream shop. They use fresh, local ingredients, and rotate through seasonal flavors throughout the year.
They grew from pop up shops, into a part time store ran out of their kitchen, to this full time shop in midtown and they've had an excellent product the whole way.
On this last visit, we tried the tart rhubarb, vanilla, and Moose's Tooth root beer. All flavors were fantastic, as were the store and the staff.
An ice cream shop doesn't really have a lot they can go above and beyond on, but there were a couple small things I thought were nice touches. They had local art on the walls, with information on how to contact the artist. They had their merch on the wall where you enter, making it so you can grab it as you're in line. Along the same wall where you line up, they have windows for you to see into their prep kitchen, making for some free entertainment. They also did a pretty good job of managing the line with a little sign directing people which way to line up.

Read moreThe Baked Alaska add on was amazing! They put marshmallow on top of your cone and then toast it! I had the vanilla pea powder with matcha cookie flavor and it was great!! The only thing is that they have some weird flavors and they don't allow samples. The 3 people in our party just got chocolate because they didn't want to hate their flavor. They did allow you to pay 25 cents to add a "sample flavor" on top of your order, but if you are traveling and don't plan to come back, that isn't going to help you. It would be very simple to tell the customer they may try 3 flavors and just scoop a little bit on a spoon and allow them to try. They also did not allow indoor seating. When it's 40 degrees outside, it's really miserable to sit outside and eat ice cream. The service is what made my rating go down. The tea shop next door was super cute - stop in after your visit. They sell coffee and tea and...

From the moment I walked in, I could feel the energy--cozy, welcoming, and perfect for catching up with friends or spending time with family. The staff was fantastic--super friendly, attentive, and you could tell they genuinely love what they do.
What really stood out to me was the quality of the ingredients. You can tell they source locally, which makes every drink and bite feel like a little taste of home. Whether it's their rich, smooth coffee or their fresh pastries, everything has that authentic Alaska-made touch. It's always great to support a local business, and Wild Scoops makes it easy with their top-notch service and fantastic products.
