Alaska Glacier Route | Summer Vacation with Rainbow Whales 🌈🐋

Last summer, we embarked on Princess Cruises' Alaska route to witness glaciers and whales. Here’s our travel diary and tips! 🛳️ Day 1: Departure — Princess Cruises Alaska Glacier Route We boarded the Discovery Princess in Seattle, setting off on a magical journey into an icy wonderland ❄️✨. The Glacier Route is one of the most breathtaking and pristine itineraries, perfect for nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts, and adventurers! Our ports included Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay National Park, Ketchikan, and Victoria. The ship was fully equipped—from gourmet dining 🍽️ to expert lectures, theater shows 🎭 to scenic decks—ensuring fun rain or shine. The onboard info wall was super helpful! 🐳 Day 2: Juneau — Capital of Glaciers & Whales Juneau, Alaska’s rainy capital (300+ rainy days/year! ☔), demands flexibility. Must-Do: 1️⃣ Mendenhall Glacier Join a tour or take a shuttle to the park. Two iconic spots: the glacier’s face 📸 and Nugget Falls (a short hike). Both stunning! 2️⃣ Goldbelt Tram ($55/person) Offers panoramic views, a souvenir shop, and trails at the summit. Our plan foiled by rain and long queues 😭—try on a sunny day! 3️⃣ Whale Watching Tour (~$200/person) Saw humpback whales AND orcas! 🐋💙 Freezing on deck 🥶 (gloves/hats essential!), but watching whales breach was pure magic! Skip: Whale Park: A 20+ minute walk for underwhelming views. Not worth it unless you’re a completionist. Pro Tips: ☂️ Pack rain gear + warm layers! ⏳ Time management is key—glacier/whale tours require 30min+ transfers. Pick one if short on time! 💸 Avoid the first tour booth!
