Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool
🍃The Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool is often the first secret garden that newcomers to Chicago hear about. The enchanting Prairie Style pavilion and stone paths surround the tranquil lily pond. In fact, this park was not always a 'hidden oasis'—it was once the birdhouse of the Lincoln Park Zoo, later closed for a time, and underwent extensive restoration to bring the park back to its former glory, earning it a place on the National Register of Historic Places.🍃 🪷The entrance is hidden, as if you've stumbled into Alice's Wonderland~ A perfect getaway, with blockbuster of water lilies on the lake surface, making it comfortable for camping and photography.🪷 ☺️It is considered a unique representative of the Prairie School landscape architecture. The pond is surrounded by a stone pavilion, where visitors can admire the beauty of the surrounding plants and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere.☺️ The Lily Pool was closed in the 1990s but has since been restored and is now open to visitors. It is designated as a National Historic Landmark and is one of Chicago's most unique landmarks. #ChicagoLife #Weekend #LeisureStroll #ChicagoFunAndDine
