Anchorage | A Halibut Feast in Alaska 🐟✨
1️⃣ Simon & Seafort’s We ordered the Seared Halibut and Crab Stuffed Halibut — both delicious! 😋 The seared halibut came with cauliflower purée and artichokes 🥦, while the crab-stuffed version was served with creamy mashed potatoes. Though not as good as grandma’s cauliflower purée 😉, the crab meat and rich sauce were incredibly flavorful! Also recommend the burrata and salad for appetizers. We tried a rosé — not great 🍷 — but the sparkling sweet wine was a yes! ✅ After the meal, take a walk along the trail in the park downstairs for a stunning sunset view 🌅 — a hidden gem no one talks about! 2️⃣ Crush Wine Bistro A local-recommended spot — and we loved it even more! 🍽️ Thought it was another typical Western restaurant, but the menu turned out to be fusion — such a pleasant surprise! Apart from being a bit too salty (a common issue in Alaskan restaurants 😅) and slow service, it was flawless! Halibut: Layers of flavor! Served with edamame, miso cream, and XO sauce — and even some Shanghai greens 😲 — tasted like home! 🥢 Lamb Shank: Braised until tender in a sweet red wine sauce, paired with cheddar-pumpkin-corn mash — so rich and irresistible! 🍖🔥 3️⃣ Snow City Cafe A famous brunch spot ☀️ — owned by the same people as Crush! Great natural lighting and a chill vibe 🌿 — definitely worth visiting for a trendy yet satisfying meal. We also tried: Sushi Ya: Surprisingly good! Fresh sashimi, generous portions 🍣 — beyond expectations! Not a must-visit, but solid. Wonjo: Just okay… uncomfortable atmosphere, but they serve a ton of side dishes! 🥢 Overall, Anchorage > Fairbanks for us! Loved every bit of it. 💙 #AnchorageEats #AlaskaFood #HalibutFeast #TravelAlaska #FoodieAdventure 🏔️🍴
