Ann Arbor | Newly Opened BBQ Spot 🥩🔥

Just tried the new place that’s been promoting itself as “Northeastern-style” — though honestly, the only thing that seemed remotely Northeastern was their “Special Mixed Meat” on the menu 🧐 Located across from CY, near Parc & Coco — perfect to grab a bubble tea first! 🧋 They offer several set menus: 👥 2-3 people: $59.99 / $89.99 👥 4-6 people: $119.99 / $149.99 👥 5-7 people: $179.99 👑 Wagyu Set: $229.99 What we ordered: ▪️ (Qiqihar) Special Mixed Meat (Angus Beef) – $29.99 ▪️ Plain Pork Belly – $16.99 No self-serve sauce bar — only two dry dips (one spicy 🌶️, one mild) and one sweet sauce. The grill fire is REALLY strong — you literally need to flip the meat within seconds, and it’s done super fast. Otherwise, it burns easily 😅 Service was friendly and attentive — they’re still in soft opening and actively asking for feedback. Some issues we noticed (already shared with the store): 1️⃣ The side dishes didn’t feel restaurant-quality and didn’t look very fresh. 2️⃣ The initial heat is too high — meat cooks too fast, burns easily, and the grill plate needs changing often. 3️⃣ The so-called “Qiqihar-style烤肉” didn’t give Northeastern vibes. The meat was also pretty tough — had to drink water to swallow it. The sweet sauce was too sweet to pair well with any meat 🍯🚫. Right now it feels a bit like a work in progress 🛠️, but since they’ve just opened, we’re keeping our expectations moderate. Hope they keep improving! 📖 Menu (didn’t get a full pic) 🕰️ Hours: Mon–Sun 11 AM–10 PM 📍 1759 Plymouth Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105 🚶 6min from NCRB 🚌 Bus 23/65 stops right in front #KoreanBBQ #AnnArborEats #MichiganLife #FoodReview #StudentEats #BBQLovers
