Architecture Student’s Guide to Rome
National Etruscan Museum at Villa Giulia This place, originally a Renaissance villa (Villa Giulia), was built by Pope Julius III. The entire structure blends classical and Renaissance styles, with arcades, courtyards, and fountains complementing each other beautifully—it’s truly charming! 🏰✨ (The spring sunshine in Rome is amazing, and since there aren’t many people here, you could easily spend the whole day basking in the sun!) The museum’s exhibition spaces are the original villa rooms, which have a very complex layout ww (but wandering through them feels really great ww The museum houses Italy’s most comprehensive collection of Etruscan civilization treasures. The exhibits, dating back around 2,000 to 3,000 years, include exquisite bronzes, pottery, and jewelry. My favorite is the Sarcophagus of the Spouses, a pair of smiling, reclining couple statues that have been showing affection for over 2,500 years! 💒 💰 Full ticket: 12€ (free for ages 0-18 and architecture students) #travel #museum #exploringmuseums #museumvisit #architecture #Italy #Italianlife #architecturalstudies #architecturestudent
