Aswan๏ฝ2-Day Trip: Abu Simbel & Old Cataract Afternoon Tea
Day 1 Philae Temple Afternoon tea at Old Cataract Hotel with Nile views Felucca sailboat sunset cruise ๐ Philae Temple ๐ค Reach by boat from Marina Philae Temple ๐ซ 200 EGP / Student 100 EGP (Open 8 AM - 5 PM) Known as the "Pearl of the Nile," this temple is dedicated to Isis, the most important goddess of ancient Egypt. Originally located on Philae Island, it was relocated in the 1960s due to the Aswan Dam construction. The boat ride itself is stunning! ๐โจ ๐ Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel ๐ซ 1000 EGP (can be used towards afternoon tea โ but the food is not great ๐ , better to just order drinks) The view here is absolutely incredible!!! ๐ This is the most beautiful stretch of the Nile. Agatha Christie stayed here long-term and wrote Death on the Nile ๐ฌ๐. Facing the Nile while reading this classic novel feels like stepping into an early 20th-century detective world ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ. Everything looks like a movie! Best light: 3:30 PM - 5 PM โ๏ธ. During peak season, be sure to call and reserve in advance! ๐ Felucca Sail on the Nile Donโt miss a felucca ride at sunset โ itโs a magical experience โต๏ธ๐ . The wind blows over the Nile, and sunlight filters through the sail onto the waterโฆ time seems to slow down. This was my most romantic memory of the trip ๐. Day 2 Abu Simbel Temple ๐ Depart from Aswan โ 4 hours to reach this temple on the edge of the Sahara Desert ๐๏ธ. Built by Ramses II for himself and Queen Nefertari. Round trip takes nearly 8 hours + 2 hours exploring. Just from the Sudanese borderโฆ Worth it? Depends on you! We didnโt follow the crowd and leave at 4 AM โ we started at 9 AM and had a great time ๐. Important: Book a reliable driver in advance! ๐๐จ #Aswan #AswanGuide #PhilaeTemple #AbuSimbel #OldCataractHotel #EgyptTravel #NileRiver #LuxuryTravel #HistoricSites ๐๐ธ
