At Proxi, I ate a spoonful of curry, a piece of braised pork
Listen, I’m just an ordinary, down-to-earth person with a hearty Northeastern Chinese stomach 🥟🔥 All I think about every day is: hotpot, malatang, skewers, BBQ, grilled cold noodles, boiled fish, lamb kebabs, grilled lamb ribs, spicy dry pot, milk tea… I dream of eating until I’m stuffed, until my belly almost bursts—that’s what good food means to me. From now on, no more Michelin ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, no more fancy brunches, French meals, omakase, or rotating restaurants with forced smiles. Spend a ton of money, take a few photos, leave hungry, go home and cook instant noodles… sobbing (unless someone else is paying, of course). Looking back at my photos, I didn’t even take one of the food—those tiny plates and bowls looked pitiful. The little shrimp cakes recommended by sisters on were seasonal and already off the menu 😢 Well… the drinks were good at least.😘 The first Gin & Tonic was pretty and tasty—sweet and sour. Maybe my spending level just isn’t there yet. Gotta keep job-hopping, make more money! But even when I have loads of money someday, I’ll still take my loved one out to eat until we’re stuffed! #LifeAbroad #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFoodie #Proxi #MichelinDining #FoodThatActuallyFills 🍜💸
