Atl Thai - Surina Thai (Is It Really the Best?)

📍 Surina Thai 2390 Chamblee Tucker Rd, Chamblee, GA 30341 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ After seeing so many rave reviews calling Surina Thai an “Atlanta Thai food ceiling,” I went in with high hopes — but left feeling a bit underwhelmed. 🤔🍛 The much-hyped Curry Shrimp ($39 for two shrimp) was… interesting. While the shrimp themselves were a bit tough and overcooked, the surrounding crispy egg net and fresh stir-fried vegetables were surprisingly flavorful and perfect with rice. 🍤🥚🥬 So, not a total fail, but not worth the price or hype. We also tried the Panang Curry, which was decent but lacked the depth and richness I expected from a top-tier Thai spot. The Beef Salad was forgettable — you can definitely skip it. 🥗❌ The atmosphere is cozy and the service is friendly, but the food just didn’t live up to the “ceiling” reputation for me. Maybe my expectations were too high, or maybe it was an off day — but for now, I’d call it a solid “okay” rather than a must-visit. 🫤 If you go, maybe stick to the veggie-heavy dishes and keep expectations in check.
