Atlanta | A Michelin-Starred Meal at Spring 🌿
📍 36 Mill St, Marietta, GA 30060 Curious to explore modern American fine dining, we visited Spring, a Michelin-recognized spot tucked away near the railroad tracks in Marietta. The setting is discreet and not the easiest to find, with limited parking—but once inside, the atmosphere is intimate and softly lit 🛤️✨. We started with the Salmon & Ikura Tartare—the salmon carried a slight fishiness, and while the sauce was flavorful, it leaned quite salty. A piece of bread or cracker would have balanced it nicely 🍣. Next, the Chicken Liver & Foie Gras Mousse topped with strawberry vinegar gelée. The toasted brioche served alongside was delicious, though the mousse itself was just okay—tangy and salty, without much depth 🍓. The Garganelli Pasta came in a garlic cream sauce with morels and fava beans. Not bad, but again, noticeably salty 🍝. For the main, Grilled Wagyu Beef—the meat quality was good, though a subtle gaminess came through toward the end. The side vegetables, unfortunately, were overwhelmingly salty 🥩🧂. Dessert was a Poached Peach Panna Cotta with strawberry ice wine, vanilla bean oil, and buckwheat crisps. Expecting sweetness, we were met with striking tartness—quite a surprise! 🍑 In summary: an ambitious menu with skilled presentation, but nearly every dish suffered from heavy-handed seasoning. If you visit, maybe request lighter salt—or come prepared for a bold, saline-forward tasting experience. #SpringMarietta #MichelinAtlanta #FineDining #ModernAmerican #AtlantaEats #FoodReview #SaltySurprise #DiningExperience #MariettaEats #RestaurantCritique
