Atlanta Jajangmyeon Review: Zoong Guk Jib 🍜
We visited Zoong Guk Jib in Duluth this Friday to try their much-talked-about jajangmyeon — and here’s the honest take! Let’s start with the flavors. We ordered: Jjamppong (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup) 🦐 #34 Fried Chicken Cutlet 🍗 Jajangmyeon (Black Bean Noodles) If I were to rank them: Jjamppong > Chicken Cutlet > Jajangmyeon The Jjamppong was the star 🌟! The broth had a subtle smoky flavor that blended beautifully with the rich seafood taste — no artificial or overly processed vibes. Even my friend, who usually avoids noodle soups, couldn’t stop sipping the broth! We agreed: if they sold just the soup, we’d order it again 😂. It came with a small abalone, mussels (a bit tiny though), shrimp, and squid. The noodles? Chewy, springy, and authentically Korean. The Fried Chicken Cutlet was a refreshing take — tangy and slightly sweet, but not in a typical sticky-sweet sauce. The broth at the bottom was light, lemony 🍋, and herby. The coating was thin and crispy — not like heavy Korean fried chicken batter — and served with fresh scallions and lettuce. We almost finished the whole plate! My only note: the sauce was served underneath, so the bottom pieces got a bit soggy over time. Now, the Jajangmyeon… it was just okay. I prefer a slightly sweet black bean sauce, but this one was fully savory. Not sure if that’s the authentic Korean style (most places in ATL seem to do it this way), but it didn’t win me over. Probably won’t reorder. Service was warm and attentive — mostly older Korean aunties who were very polite 🥰. The space was also noticeably cleaner than many other Korean restaurants in Atlanta. Verdict: Highly recommend — especially for the jjamppong and chicken cutlet! 📍 3585 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Duluth, GA 30096 #AtlantaEats #KoreanFood #JajangmyeonReview #DuluthFood #ATLFoodie #KoreanNoodles #FoodReview #AtlantaRestaurants
