Back in Atlanta: A Food & Feels Journey 🍴💖

Returning to the city where I spent my youth has been nothing short of emotional — and delicious! Picking up where we left off in my last post, here’s a taste of what we savored this time around: 1️⃣-4️⃣ Korean Garden – Grilled Fresh Eel My first time trying freshly grilled eel — thick, bouncy, and rich with smoky charcoal aroma after roasting. Every bite was pure satisfaction! 🐟🔥 The grilled beef and spicy cod were also top-tier, though the pork belly felt less exciting after the eel and beef. A bit pricey and far, but worth it if budget and distance aren’t issues! 5️⃣ Iremon – Oxtail Stew Located near downtown, this Jamaican-style oxtail was fall-off-the-bone tender and deeply spiced. I’ve never had anything like it in Seattle — truly unforgettable! 6️⃣ Chick-fil-A HQ Tour A surprisingly moving experience — laughed, cried, and left inspired 😭❤️. The $10 ticket included a burger and dessert voucher 🍔🍦, and maybe even brought us some visa/green card luck — we got our fingerprint appointment that very night! 🍀 7️⃣-1️⃣1️⃣ Gyuboshi – All-You-Can-Eat Wagyu Hot Pot Why doesn’t Seattle have a place like this?! An endless flow of premium Wagyu, DIY donburi bowls, appetizers, boba, desserts, and hot pot extras like fresh throat mucosa, tripe, and preserved vegetables — it felt like heaven 🥹♾️. I devoured sweet shrimp and thin-sliced Wagyu dipped in savory sukiyaki broth and egg yolk. Not a fan of the tom yum broth (not tangy or spicy enough), but everything else was perfect. I’d totally get a membership if I lived here — and can’t wait to try their sister spot for Wagyu BBQ next time! We also grabbed ice cream at Jeni’s and chicken at Popeyes, but missed out on a few spots like the newly Michelin-starred Bacchanalia and Hayakawa, Jang Su Jang’s beef hot pot, Mamak’s Hainanese chicken, and Saint Germain’s canelés. Next time! ✨ Every trip back reminds me how kind the people are, how lovely the weather is, and how affordable gas feels here 💖. Atlanta is growing fast — our old neighborhood now hosts offices for Google, Amazon, and Meta alongside Microsoft and Square. Even my dog made new friends in just a few days! Who knows — maybe we’ll be back for good someday 🥹 Till next time, ATL — you’re forever in my heart! #AtlantaEats #FoodMemories #NostalgiaTrip #WagyuHeaven #KoreanBBQ #ChickfilATour #EelLovers #EatLikeALocal #ATLVibes
