Back to My Favorite Sichuan Spot in Chicago for the New Year ❣️
Chicago winters are so cold I’ve hardly dined out lately, but after all that bland diet food, I was craving the spicy, oily, chili-packed punch of Sichuan cuisine!! So I paid the highest culinary tribute — a 30-minute drive for in-person dining. Every time I come here, I instantly order the Chicken Soup with Rice — so delicious and such a steal: a huge bowl for $9, enough for two!👍😁 The Mouthwatering Chicken wins with its unbeatable seasoning — we couldn’t stop eating it!!😍💕 Strongly recommend this one — keeping it short because it’s just that good. A pleasant surprise was the Beef Mao Cai — last time I tried the mixed meat version and wasn’t impressed, but this beef one is solid! Besides beef slices, it has cabbage, tofu skin, wide noodles, potatoes, and more. If you’re in the mood for maocai, get this. The Wide Noodle Mao Cai is better for die-hard noodle fans.😊👌 The Cold Noodles are also well-seasoned. The Tofu Pudding came with crispy fried dough twists — a nice touch! The chili oil is authentic, though I’d say it’s more refreshing for summer. The Pork Trotter Soup — the dipping sauce is great, but the broth is a bit too thick for drinking straight. Still good if you just want the tender trotters with sauce. The Fern Root Noodles are reliably good — not too spicy, great for mild heat lovers. 📍 Royal Highness Zhu 1217-1219 W Fullerton Ave, Chicago, IL 60614 #ChicagoSichuan #RoyalHighnessZhu #OverseasFoodGuide #FoodAdventures
