Baek Jong-wonβs Noodles β Paik's Noodle ππ°π·
A while back, I binge-watched Street Food Fighter on Bilibili and totally fell for Baek Jong-won β his hilarious struggle of having food cleared away the moment he stepped aside was way too relatable. Later, I learned he opened this noodle chain in Chicagoβs suburbs and always wanted to go, but never made the drive. Recently, a suburban friend suggested meeting there β finally, a reason to go! π Jjajangmyeon (Black Bean Noodles) β Thick, sticky, sweet-salty sauce typical of Korean-style jjajangmyeon. Compared to Peking Mandarin House in the city, this version felt starchier. Still tasty β eat it plain or with kimchi. π₯ Fried Dumplings β Pork and cabbage filling, but the wrapper was thick and not crispy β skip unless youβre really craving. π Sweet & Sour Pork (Tangsuyuk) β Felt more like Chinese guobaorou β light, airy coating with a tangy-sweet sauce. Even as a Northerner, I found it delicious. Overall: noodles were okay, tangsuyuk was the winner. Maybe my love for Baek Jong-won influenced me a bit π β but itβs a solid spot if youβre nearby. π Paik's Noodle 1615 Milwaukee Ave Suite 105, Glenview, IL 60025 #PaeksNoodle #BaekJongWon #KoreanNoodles #Jjajangmyeon #Tangsuyuk #ChicagoSuburbs
