Big Portions and Delicious Mexican Seafood Spot

🦐If you live in Houston, you’ve probably seen Mambo Seafood around—there are several locations, including in Chinatown and Koreatown. It’s mainly a seafood spot with American and Latin flavors, so most of the customers are Hispanic. After a few visits, I feel like my Spanish might improve! ā€¼ļø One thing I highly recommend is their Mambo Chelada, a spicy beer that’s a Mexican tradition called michelada. They rim a chilled glass with salt, add a special spicy sauce and chili powder, then pour in the beer. Having one after work is so refreshing!!! Though, fair warning, some of my friends can’t handle it—it’s rare to find someone who enjoys michelada as much as I do. 🦐For starters, I ordered the seafood tostada—a fried corn tortilla topped with fish and shrimp, mixed with diced onions, tomatoes, cilantro, cheese, and a squeeze of lemon juice. It’s tangy and appetizing. I also got sweet elote (grilled street corn), a common Mexican street food. The corn is slathered with mayo, then topped with cheese, chili powder, and cilantro. 🦐Every main dish comes with a side (salad, fries, or fried rice). My friend ordered a small combo with fried shrimp and stuffed crab, paired with a salad. I went for the grilled fish fillet topped with Chipotle sauce—slightly spicy and sweet, perfect with rice. For sides, I chose fried rice and salad. Their fried rice is surprisingly delicious for no reason! #Houston #FoodieShare #HoustonEats #HoustonFoodExploration
