Located in a quiet neighborhood, the restaurant stands out with its vibrant red sign. β Bistronomic Onion Soup Me and this soupβ¦ just not meant to be in this lifetime π . Seriously β Iβve never tasted anything so intenselyβ¦ interesting. For $12, itβs an experience, Iβll give it that. The first sip was a shock β overwhelmingly sweet! Imagine onions cooked to mush, loaded with sugar, topped with three slices of bread soaked until soggy and slightly fermented. A complex blend ofβ¦ not-so-pleasant flavors. Hard pass! π ββοΈ π Bistronomic Escargot After the soupβs physical and spiritual assault, this appetizer was a lifesaver! Well-seasoned, nicely chewy snails served with (extra) crispy bread. Delicious and redeeming! ππ π Rack of Lamb AMAZING β highly recommend! π Cooked medium-well, incredibly tender with subtle seasoning that lets the natural lamb flavor shine (and no, itβs not βgameyβ β itβs delicious!). Five generous lamb chops β fantastic value. β Steak Frites Steak served with fries in a French restaurant β not something you see every day! Ordered medium, but came slightly overcooked. A decent, standard steak. The fries were a bit cold by the time we dug in, but the seasoning on them was tasty. π₯©π β Roasted Organic Amish Chicken Coq au Vin Huge portion β literally half a chicken! Juicy and tender, but seasoning was just okay. A pretty straightforward roasted chicken. π π Baked Alaska We were already stuffed, butβ¦ when in Rome π°! Shared this dessert and were glad we did β it came with three ice cream balls topped with toasted meringue and almonds. Not too sweet, and a lovely way to end the meal. βοΈπ₯ Overall: The ambiance is casual, not overly fancy. If you order wisely, this can be a great spot! Portions are generous and the value is solid. For the price, the food quality is definitely commendable. π #Bistronomic #ChicagoFrenchFood #ChicagoEats #RestaurantReview #LambLover
