Caught a Super Delicious and Ambience-Filled French Meal
🍑Tonight, I took advantage of the extended Restaurant Week to celebrate Valentine’s Day a bit late. I randomly booked a French restaurant on the Magnificent Mile and was pleasantly surprised to find it on the Restaurant Week list with an extension! You can still enjoy the Restaurant Week menu, with three courses for $45. Who wouldn’t be thrilled? Each dish was incredibly delicious! 🍑For the appetizers, we ordered escargot and the tartare of the day. Both dishes cost an additional $7, but it was definitely worth it! The escargot was truly impressive, with a special sauce that blended the flavors of mushrooms, garlic, and a hint of olive oil. Paired with crispy bread, we cleared our plates in no time and even ordered extra toasted bread to mop up the remaining sauce. The tartare, made with tuna and avocado, had a slight tangy flavor, making it very refreshing and satisfying. The portion was generous, though it wasn’t as stunning as the escargot. 🍑Neither of the main courses disappointed. We chose the fish of the day and the butcher cut of the day (which was lamb shank today, with an additional $15). Overall, the value was very high, and the meat was incredibly fresh. I preferred the fish because the top layer was perfectly charred, while the center was slightly rare. Paired with two different sauces (one of which had a surprising caramel flavor!), the texture was very rich. #ChicagoRestaurantWeek #ChicagoFood #ChicagoFrenchCuisine #ChicagoEats
