Celebrate Pride With These 4 LGBTQ+ Owned Restaurants To Try On Postmates

LA Pride is around the corner, and the city is getting ready to light up in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. However you’re planning to mark the occasion – whether you’re marching in the parade or dancing at Pride in the Park – good food has got to be an essential part of your celebrations. Luckily, LA is home to an incredible array of LGBTQ+ owned eateries, which are available to order from on Postmates. As LA’s local delivery app, Postmates has long shown love for the city’s vibrant LGBTQ+ food scene – during Pride and beyond. And you’ll find plenty of options on the app, for when you’re fueling up before the festivities, or winding down after a jam-packed day of Pride. [1. You won’t find much better in LA than Bridgetown Roti. Cheffing up Bajan and Trinidadian specialties, their dishes are big and bold in flavour. A hand-rolled roti with one of their tasty sides, like sweet and spicy plantains, macaroni and cheese pie, or jerk cucumber salad, has all the makings of the perfect food delivery. We went down to Bridgetown Roti to try one of their signature dishes – the Red Pepper Goat Roti – which was truly phenomenal. We also had the pleasure of meeting the chef and owner, Rashida Holmes, to discover more about the origin of this LA gem. While Holmes “always wanted to do a Caribbean concept”, she knew she also needed to “colour [the] food with [her] own American experience”. The result of that fusion is a match made in heaven – try it for yourself via Postmates! [2. Their delivery menu features irresistible pastries, great coffee, hearty sandwiches, and breakfast burritos a-plenty. If you want to really get into the spirit of Pride, you’ve got to order the LG-BLT sandwich loaded with bacon, roasted tomatoes and Dijon. [3. The menu includes Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles, as well as BBQ’d meats, fragrant stir fries and fresh salads – all bursting with flavour and texture. If you’re trying to eat the rainbow, you’re ordering a delivery from the right place. We stopped by Luv2Eat Thai Bistro to speak to owners, Chef Noree Pla and Chef Fern Kaewtathip. Overwhelmed by the welcome they have received from Angelenos, they set out to create Thai food that would make people feel like they were eating at home with friends. When asked what they would most recommend, Fern Kaewtathip mentioned they are known as “the king of Moo Ping.” The dish is grilled marinated pork skewers and is best eaten with sticky rice – order through Postmates to enjoy it fresh.
