Charleston, SC Food & Fun Guide 🍤🌴

Charleston – a historic, elegant city known for its Southern charm and fresh coastal cuisine. As a hub of "old money" and Lowcountry flavor, it offers everything from rich seafood dishes to creamy, comforting grits. Don’t let the "$$$" on Google scare you – even the nicest spots usually run around $60–70 per person including tax and tip! Here’s the food lineup we tried: 🦞 Hanks Seafood Awarded “Best Seafood Restaurant” for 18 years running! 📍 Make a reservation online, or try walking in – we scored a community table in 20 mins. 🍽 Must-orders: Seafood a la Wando – scallops, shrimp & fish in saffron cream sauce with fried corn cakes Sautéed Flounder – lighter but full of flavor Fresh oysters were good, but not the star 🌸 Magnolias Classic Southern fare – book via Resy. 🍛 Highlights: Shellfish over Grits – creamy, savory, a must-try Crab Bisque – delicious with bread (a bit salty alone) Steak was solid too! 🍗 Poogan’s Porch Great for brunch! 🍳 We tried: Shrimp & Grits Famous fried chicken Pecan Pie – a Southern classic (not my personal fave, but worth a try!) 🦪 Oyster House Some of the best oysters in town! ⭐ Go for the special oysters – other dishes are just okay. ⏳ Weeknights = no wait | Weekends = 30+ mins 🍸 Tip: Try O-Bar around the corner – same owners, same great oysters, less wait! 👑 82 Queen Highly recommended by a local guide – book ahead! 🍗 We ordered: Duck leg She-crab soup A tad salty, but tasty overall. 📝 On My List (Next Time!) Fleet Landing Restaurant & Bar – Locals love it, but waits can hit 2+ hours 167 Raw – Popular oyster bar – expect 2+ hour lines Husk – Super hard to book, but supposedly incredible Whether you're sipping sweet tea, slurping oysters, or savoring shrimp & grits – Charleston serves up Southern hospitality on every plate. #CharlestonEats #SouthernFood #SeafoodLovers #HistoricDining #TravelGuide #HanksSeafood #OysterHouse #82Queen #FoodieMap
