Charleston Food Guide: Hits & Misses 🍽️
Wondering where to eat in Charleston? Here’s my honest take on some of the city’s most talked-about spots: ✅ Hall of Fame 🍴 Husk Charleston A must-visit! Great value for fine dining – book 2 weeks ahead. Daily changing menu with fresh, Southern-inspired dishes. 🐖 Their pork dishes are incredible – best pork chop I’ve had in the U.S.! Beautiful setting, excellent service. 🍖 Lewis Barbecue Texas-style BBQ with a 4.8 Google rating – packed with locals. 🥩 Brisket, prime rib, and sausage are all flavorful and tender. 🚗 Limited parking – go early! Affordable and delicious. 🆗 Average Picks 🍜 Pink Bellies Vietnamese-American fusion? More like American with a vague Asian twist. 🧀 OG garlic noodles = cheesy pasta with pulled pork (skip it). 🍔 Pho Mai burger was juicy and tasty – the surprise winner. 📸 Cute for photos, but don’t expect authentic flavors. 🍍 The Pineapple Hut A popular pineapple soft-serve spot near City Market. Tastes more like a slushy than ice cream – small portion but refreshing. ❌ Skip These 🦞 Hyman’s Seafood How does this have 4.9 stars? 🧐 Mussels were funky, crawfish lacked flavor, and cocktails were overly sweet and artificial. Only the fried fish and shrimp were okay – but not worth the wait. Famous for its decor and celeb visits, not the food. ⚓ Pier 41 Budget-friendly but bland. 🌮 Fish tacos were decent, but mussels had zero seasoning. Portions are large, service is friendly – but flavor is missing. Eat at Husk and Lewis BBQ, snap a pic at Pineapple Hut, and spend your seafood budget elsewhere! #CharlestonEats #FoodReview #HuskCharleston #LewisBBQ #SkipHymans #CharlestonFoodGuide #SouthernCuisine
