Turning my paycheck into food adventures — this time at Nonnina Italian Restaurant in Chicago's DT! Thanks to a little recommendation from the bookish side of the internet, I randomly picked this spot (booked a week ahead, so no wait even during the holiday rush 🎄). We ordered three dishes for two people: 1️⃣ Squid Ink Pasta – 8/10 Rich and flavorful, with amazing lobster pieces! The cherry tomatoes burst with juiciness — definitely recommend! 🦞🍅 2️⃣ Fried Calamari – 🙅 Skip it! Basically a pile of onions with a couple tiny squid tentacles hidden inside… not good at all. 3️⃣ Black Truffle Pasta – 3/10 Tasted like chewing on towel tassels soaked in thick cheese — doughy and undercooked texture.
