Chi-beria | Sankyu Sushi Japanese Restaurant 🏮
⭐️ Sankyu Sushi Japanese Restaurant 📍 1176 Elmhurst Rd, Mt Prospect, IL 60056 Recently moved to Chicago, so from now on it’s all about exploring the city’s food scene! 🏙️✨ Last night, we visited this izakaya—it’s pretty far from downtown Chicago (about 40 minutes by car). The area is filled with Korean spots, and we originally planned to check out Joong Boo Market for Asian groceries, but got hungry on the way and ended up here instead 😄. We ordered: 🥢 Appetizer: Tofu 🍢 Yakitori Skewers: Chicken Teriyaki, Kalbi, Chicken Wings, and Beef Tongue 🍣 Chirashi Bowl and New York Roll The beef tongue skewer was quite tasty! The kalbi had a strong marinade flavor (almost like cooking wine). The chicken wings were a bit charred in places, giving a bitter taste—not sure if that’s intentional or just overcooked. My partner enjoyed the chirashi bowl, but my favorite was the sundae dessert—black sugar with mochi and matcha ice cream 🍡🍦, perfectly sweetened! They also served hot tea to balance the richness. The rest of the dishes were just okay. We only drove out this far because our car battery needed charging in the cold Chicago weather ❄️🚗. Next time, we’ll probably look for yakitori spots closer to the city. But the area does have lots of Korean restaurants and supermarkets—worth revisiting for that! #ChicagoEats #Izakaya #SushiLovers #Yakitori #JapaneseFood #ExploreChicago #FoodAdventure
