This casual [Mexican restaurant](https://restaurantclicks.com/chicago/best-mexican-restaurants-chicago/), located on the west side of Pulaski between 48th and 49th, is one of the beloved dining spots in Chicago. The family-owned eatery has a small menu, but each dish is spectacular, especially its birria, a braised goat stew, the quesabirria, and their consommé. Unfortunately, this long-standing Mexican restaurant that has served the Chicago community is now asking for help. According to Block Club Chicago, Birrieria Zaragoza has had to close its Archer Heights location indefinitely due to a stove fire that caused damage to the building housing the popular restaurant. To assist in reopening Birrieria Zaragoza , the owners have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover payroll and ongoing expenses, giving them a chance to rebuild. > For nearly 18 years, my family has poured everything into this restaurant. Theyâve rarely taken a paycheck, instead choosing to invest back into the team, the food, and the community. Birrieria Zaragoza has proudly supported charitable events, disaster relief efforts, and immigration reform because giving back is part of who we are.â > If this restaurant has ever meant something to you, if youâve shared a meal with us, if youâve felt at home here, if you believe in supporting people whoâve spent their lives supporting others, we humbly ask you to help us through this time.
