Chicago’s Best Value Omakase? Not an Exaggeration! 🍣
Restaurant Week is almost over, so I quickly booked a table at Shoji to try their $60 set menu. And get this — the course includes 3 small appetizers (yes, 3, not a choice of 1)!! 🥚 Saki Zuke – Egg Tofu with Ikura Silky steamed egg with salmon roe — brilliant! 🐙 Octopus Salad – Fresh, sweet, loaded with veggies — loved it! 🍤 Tempura – Includes okra, shrimp, pumpkin… so much variety and tastes amazing too. 🍱 Entrée – Sushi Set Akami, hamachi, salmon, octopus, ebi, eel — all fresh, and the cuts are generous! So satisfying. 🍵 Dessert – Matcha tiramisu & green tea mochi. Pretty standard but nice. ➕ We added 6 more nigiri! Wanted kampachi but they were out — the server suggested madai and shima aji (off-menu gems, had to try!), plus sweet shrimp. As always — fresh, delicious, and generously cut 🥰 🚗 Street parking nearby was easy. Definitely planning to come back for the full omakase and share another review later! #ChicagoLife #ChicagoFun #StudyAbroadEats #HiddenGems #JapaneseFood #ChicagoEats
