Chicago’s Hidden Mediterranean Gem
Of all the “white people food” out there, Mediterranean is my absolute favorite. After researching Chicago’s Med spots, Ema kept popping up — finally tried their brunch menu and was totally wowed. Definitely coming back! Today’s Menu 🍽️ 🧆 Hummus with Lamb Ragù The hummus is incredibly smooth, topped with tender, slow‑braised lamb. The warm, soft pita is perfect for scooping — slathered with hummus and lamb, it’s heavenly. 🥣 Greek Yogurt with House‑made Granola From the brunch menu! The yogurt is silky and not too tart — sweetened with what tasted like honey or fig jam. Paired with crunchy nuts, it’s a satisfying, wholesome breakfast. The fruit on top has a tangy glaze that balances the sweetness. 🥬 Brussels Sprouts Saw everyone raving about these — had to try. They’re roasted to a crisp, yet the inside stays tender. Savory, oily, and deeply flavorful — unlike any Brussels sprouts I’ve had before! Key Details 📍 🍴 Restaurant: Ema 📍 Address: 74 W Illinois St, Chicago, IL 60654 💰 Price: $30‑50 per person (could be higher with drinks). So many dishes left to try — the drink menu looks enticing too. Next time I’m definitely ordering wine and some grilled items (skipped them this time to avoid over‑ordering).
