Chicago’s Mediterranean Food Heaven β€” Avec 🦐✨

Took my parents for a second visit to Chicago’s famous Avec β€” this time to the River North location! So many people love this place β€” we even ran into a few fellow grads also bringing their parents here πŸ˜‚ Despite its popularity, Avec has plenty of seating and isn’t too hard to book. Definitely give it a try if you get the chance! 🐠 Starters 🦐 Wild Mexican Prawns: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Big shrimp roasted in tomato sauce β€” so fragrant and perfectly cooked with a nice chew! Served with warm pita bread and tangy tomato sauce β€” a must-try! 🐟 Cod Brandade: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Creamy baked cod β€” absolutely incredible! Tastes a bit like clam chowder and is delicious spread on crispy garlic bread. A definite must-order! πŸ– Chorizo-stuffed Medjool Dates: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Dates stuffed with chorizo β€” tasty but a bit salty. Best eaten with the bread they provide. πŸ₯˜ Mains 🍝 Rigatoni with Spring Onion, Shiitake Mushroom, Green Peas: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Unique pasta flavor with lots of mushrooms and peas. The prosciutto crumbs on top add a nice texture β€” has a subtle Japanese-inspired twist πŸ˜‹ Very refreshing and worth trying! πŸ• Mushroom Pizza: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 A bit salty but overall tasty β€” decent but not mind-blowing. We’ve tried their desserts before and found them just okay, so we skipped them this time. Heads up β€” their starters are pretty generous and each comes with a different type of bread, so you might already feel full after the first round πŸ˜‚ If you’re into Mediterranean food, don’t miss this spot! πŸ“ Avec River North 141 W Erie St, Chicago, IL 60654 #RestaurantRecommendation #HiddenGem #MediterraneanFood #VibeDining
