Chicago’s Most Buzzworthy Dessert Is Hidden in This Italian Restaurant

This weekend we returned to Chicago for a family wedding, and in just two days, I discovered a hidden dessert gem! Timmy heard on a podcast that Gibsons Italia was called the best Italian restaurant in Chicago. We’d tried their steakhouse before and weren’t blown away, but this time we visited the Italian side—and were completely impressed! The restaurant sits right by the river—if the weather’s nice, definitely sit outside. Every shot is Insta-worthy 📸. We ordered a few dishes, and each one stood out: 🥩 Dry-Aged Double Cut Porterhouse This dry-aged steak was seared perfectly outside, juicy and flavorful inside—truly a signature dish. 🍝 Pasta We ordered two pastas to share among four—portions weren’t huge but the flavors were rich. I especially loved the Raviolo—thin wrapper, generous filling, beautifully sauced. 🍌 The Star: Banana Gelato Our server highly recommended this dessert, saying office workers nearby stop by just for this “house specialty.” It’s reportedly the only item whose recipe hasn’t changed since the restaurant opened! I wasn’t originally excited about banana desserts, but one bite and I was hooked! This isn’t ordinary banana ice cream—it’s layers of Oreo crust + banana gelato + dark chocolate ganache + banana cream, each element balanced perfectly. ✨ Sweet but not cloying, creamy yet refreshing—truly one of a kind in the U.S.! I could eat this every day. Highly, highly recommend trying it! The restaurant not only serves great food but also offers professional, thoughtful service. Paired with the Chicago riverside views, it’s a full-score dining experience 💯. #FoodDiscovery #GlobalEats #HiddenDessertGem #Chicago #ChicagoEats #SweetTooth
