Chicago’s New & Super-Hard-to-Book Thai Spot 🥘

😍 Walking in before 9 PM is basically impossible—you have to book early! The place is so popular that the owner is pretty chill about it. We reserved a whole week in advance just to get a table! The flavors here are amazing and unique, with Thai herbs and spices used generously—so some dishes like curries and cup noodles might have a subtle bitter note. But the Tom Yum soup blew all four of us away! Not the coconut-milk kind, but a tangy, spicy, super-fresh broth that’s incredibly appetizing. 🎉 We ordered 4 dishes (sadly, the mango sticky rice was sold out 😭): 1️⃣ Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp 🍤 Extra toppings cost more, but it’s so worth it—so delicious! Loaded with tomatoes, herbs, and dried chilies (yes, it’s spicy!), but we couldn’t stop sipping! 2️⃣ Duck & Lychee Curry 🦆🍍 Highly recommended by many! The duck is fantastic, and the addition of lychees, green grapes, and pineapple makes the curry light and refreshing. Served with a big bowl of purple rice—sweet, sticky, and so satisfying! 3️⃣ Beef Hot Pot 🍲 Packed with various cuts of beef, bean sprouts, and water spinach—so hearty! The beef is stewed until tender and flavorful. They bring out the pot, light the flame 🔥, then pour in the broth to simmer—authentic with a slightly sweet note, like boat noodle broth. 4️⃣ Volcanic Cup Noodles 🌋 Not our favorite… The noodles were dry and very spicy 🌶️, with an overpowering herbal taste. Creative presentation, but not as tasty. 🥥 Fresh Coconut Water Served in the whole coconut with a cute little umbrella 🏖️—so refreshing! The coconut meat was a bit hard to scoop, though. 🥤 Thai Iced Tea Surprisingly not overly sweet, with a hint of coffee flavor and a strong milky taste. Beautiful layers and perfectly balanced! 😊 Overall, this place is crazy popular. Even after we finished eating, two tables stayed empty for about 20 minutes—and people still had to wait until after 9 PM to be seated. There’s only one server, so service can be a bit slow, but the food truly lives up to the hype! 🔥 Eat Fine Design by Khun Kung 2062 N Damen Ave, Chicago, IL, 60615 Closed Mon & Tue | Open daily 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM #ChicagoThaiFood #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFoodFinds #ChicagoFoodie #ChicagoDining #MustTry
