Chicago’s Newest Trendy Coffee Spot — Milli by Metric ☕️
Before moving, Metric was my go-to neighborhood cafe for morning caffeine. Recently heard they opened an all-day cafe — with pastries by Obelix’s former head baker — so it instantly went viral. Had to meet a friend there ASAP. ☕️ Pastry roundup – Forgot which éclair it was, but it was packed with rosemary flavor. The garlic twist was aggressively savory — garlic + scallion power 😂 The canelé was just okay — especially after trying Margie’s mochi version the same day. 🍑 Peach cross laminated bun (seasonal?) – Cream on top, sweet stewed peach jam below — very summery. 🍵 Blue Lagoon drink – Matcha + blueberry lemon soda + coconut sparkling water — flavors didn’t quite marry. Blueberry and matcha just shouldn’t be together. ☕️ Pour-over: Colombia Nelson Chaves Natural – Notes of strawberry jam, Syrah grape, ganache. I’m bitter-averse, so I added half & half — loved it that way. ☕️ Last pic: 10 AM weekend line — big space but slow service. Waited ~30 minutes, but still better than most trendy spots. Pastries are displayed upfront — pick what you like. Nothing mind-blowing, but all solid. The owner wants this to be a warm, interactive community hub — mission accomplished. Moms with kids, friend groups — everyone finds a seat and relaxes into weekend mornings. Very neighborhood-friendly vibes. 📍 Milli by Metric 3110 N Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60618 #SummerFoodieCat 🐱 #Chicago #ChicagoLife #ExploreChicago #ChicagoEats #COTD #VibeCafe
