Chicago’s No.1️⃣ Burger Spot 😭

Went here with a friend at the end of May and was seriously impressed. Even though it’s known as the top burger place, we skipped the burgers and explored other menu items — not a single miss! We left stuffed, and the vibe was great too. 1️⃣ Foie Gras Scramble Came specifically for this because I heard it was amazing. It was interesting, but a bit salty for my taste. The foie gras is finely chopped into a paste with some greens — worth trying, but not mind-blowing. It paired really well with the bone marrow toast since that bread is toasted to perfection. 2️⃣ Roasted Bone Marrow Highly recommend this! My friend and I both loved it 🥰 Bone marrow can get heavy, but their house-made sauce (with charred onions, I think) balances it perfectly. The thick toast is super crispy — dip it into the marrow and sauce and it’s heaven. So filling, but the toast is so good you can’t stop eating! 3️⃣ General Jane‘s Honey-Fried Chicken Tastes just like Korean honey butter fried chicken — sweet and savory sauce. The coating is a bit thick; there are 6 pieces, so decent portion. Chicken was tender and juicy — solid but not exceptional. 4️⃣ Mille Feuille (Napoleon Cake) If you like sweets, you MUST order this 😻 Incredibly crispy, served with chocolate sauce poured tableside. The cream isn’t overly sweet — just perfect. Each layer is crisp and the texture is fantastic — plus it’s gorgeous! 🫶 No reservations — we got there around 8 PM and waited about an hour. Ended up sitting at the bar, which was fun — we watched burgers and fries being made right in front of us! The burgers looked huge and tempting, but we were too full to try. Next time! 📍 Au Cheval 800 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60607 #ChicagoEats #ChicagoLife #ChicagoDining #ExploreChicago #ChicagoBurgers #FoieGras
