Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs|Deere Park 🍽️🌿

Met up with a foodie friend I hadn’t seen in months, and she recommended Deere Park — opened in May in the suburbs. Chef Todd Stein, who worked at several Chicago restaurant groups, finally returned to his hometown to open his own spot. 🦐 Grilled Shrimp – Served with fresh fava beans and a creamy fava bean purée. The shrimp were plump and perfectly seasoned. 🌶️ Aguachile – A Mexican-style dish with cured hamachi, cucumber, onion, green chili, and avocado. Lightly tangy and spicy — fresh and appetizing! 🥟 Lobster Dumplings – Unlike S.K.Y.’s version, these tasted more Asian-inspired, closer to wontons than Italian ravioli. Packed with lobster meat in a savory mushroom broth. 🥗 Caesar Salad – Deliciously dressed mini romaine hearts, but with sourdough croutons that were oddly chewy, not crispy. 🦀 Crab Pasta (Fusilli) – My favorite of the night! Creamy, slightly spicy sauce clung to every twist of pasta, with generous chunks of crab meat hidden underneath. So good I finished every bite — even after multiple appetizers! Note: This was a half portion — the server kindly split dishes for us after seeing we were sharing. Overall, a high-quality American restaurant that holds its own even compared to city spots. Great for when you don’t feel like driving downtown but still want a solid meal with friends. 📍 Deere Park 200 Green Bay Rd, Highwood, IL 60040 #DeerePark #NorthShoreEats #HighwoodIL #SuburbanDining #ChefOwned #AmericanCuisine
