Chicago’s Rice Killer Supreme|Xiang Xiang Xiang 🌶️🍚

Not exaggerating — Hunan Cuisine ) is one of the restaurants I’ve visited most often in Chicago. As someone from Jiangxi, I have high standards for “rice-worthy” food 🤣. This is the kind of place that if I don’t go for a while, I start craving it. I probably go at least once a month — to the point that the owner recognizes me now 🙈. My Every-Visit Must-Orders 👇 🥢 Changsha-Style Stinky Tofu Out of all the Hunan spots I’ve tried in Chicago, this is my favorite. Always freshly fried — crispy outside, soft inside. The sauce is that bold, spicy flavor, and even dipping rice in it is delicious. 🍲 Dry Pot Nine-Flavored Pork Intestines Cleaned really well — basically no off-putting smell. Soft and texture, perfect with rice (seriously makes you eat extra bites without realizing 🍚). 🥩 Wild Pepper Beef Tenderloin Beef is stir-fried super tender. The wild pepper brings a fragrant spiciness that hits just right — not uncomfortably hot. This dish alone can get me through an entire bowl of rice 😌. Regularly Rotated Favorites 👇 🐷 Hunan-Style Stir-Fried Pork Classic Hunan dish — savory, fragrant, rice-ready. 🦑 Sizzling Plate Squid Tentacles Ordered takeout during group hangouts — tentacles are Q and packed with that sizzling plate aroma. Always the first dish to disappear. 🍺 Dry Pot Beer Duck Ordered takeout for Lunar New Year — friends unanimously voted it the best dish of the night. Super flavorful, perfect with rice. 🥬 Xiangxi Grandma’s Veggie I love taking this home — goes great with congee or plain rice. Simple, comforting, and reliable. 🥢 Husband & Wife Lung Slices Authentic flavor, balanced mala — a go-to when I want something appetizing. 🌶️ Pounded Chili with Century Egg Looks low-key but is a rice killer — great for mixing into rice or pairing with other dishes. I mostly stick to the above list — mainly because I’m afraid of hitting a miss 😂. If you’ve tried other dishes here and think they’re great, drop a comment — I’d love some recs 😋 📍 Hunan Cuisine 2002 S Wentworth Ave, Unit 100, Chicago, IL 60616 #REDDeliciousFoodGrad #ChicagoLife #Chicago #LifeInTheUS #HunanFood #ChineseCuisine
