Chicago|A Lazy Afternoon Escape—Nettare ☕️🧁
I’ve written about this lovely wine bar before 🍷—it used to be open only in the evenings, but slowly expanded to lunch, and now it’s serving breakfast and coffee too! ☀️ Last week I had a dental appointment downtown, so I thought it was the perfect time to revisit and try their new morning offerings. ☕️ Pic 1 is their Latte Flight—absolutely perfect for indecisive folks like me! 😍 You can pick any three from the menu: Lavender London Fog, Cinnamon Caramel Bun, Walnut Honey, Maple Vanilla, or Classic Latte. I was totally surprised that I ended up LOVING the Cinnamon Caramel Bun—usually it can be overly sweet, but balanced so well with the bold espresso. The Lavender London Fog was also amazing✨—so floral and light, perfect for spring and summer sipping 🌸🍃. ☕️ Pic 2 is their Mushroom Tart—topped with my favorite, Maitake mushrooms, super crispy 👌, paired with rich but not overpowering cheese and a buttery, flaky crust. It was still warm when served… pure comfort! 🥧🍄 Their café service is still new, so they’re running some sweet deals: ☕️ Wednesday: Latte Flight for just $9 ☕️ Thursday: All teas $4 ☕️ Friday: All specialty drinks $4 ☕️ Saturday: Croissants $3 ☕️ Sunday: From 3-5 PM, order one pot of tea and get any pastry for $3, or enjoy a full afternoon tea set for $20! 🫖🍰 Maybe because it was a weekday, but the place was super quiet and peaceful. Sunlight was pouring through the skylights ☀️, mixed with all the green plants inside—it felt like dining in a little sunlit greenhouse 🌿💚. I highly recommend coming here to unwind slowly with a good drink in hand. Have you been to Nettare yet? What’s your favorite coffee spot in Chicago?
