Chicago๏ฝBlind Box Italian Restaurant ๐๐
Took my mom to try some Italian food in Chicago โ and we unlocked a surprisingly delicious spot! This place is right next to Ramen San and Iโd never noticed it before. Inside, itโs cozy, pretty, and full of families dining together ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆโค๏ธ What caught my eye on Google Maps was this: ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ Sure enough, the server poured garlic oil right over the loaf at the table ๐ซโจ The oil soaked into the soft bread, while the crust stayed crispy โ one bite and I was in heaven ๐ต๐ซ ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ Tender and fresh, served with a spicy tomato sauce and caramelized garlic โ so good! The pastas totally won my mom over: ๐ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฒ ๐๐น๐น๐ฎ ๐ฃ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ผ Wide ribbons with pork shoulder and beef ragรน โ so flavorful and hearty. The noodles had the perfect chew, and the meat sauce was rich and delicious. Felt like a home-cooked Italian meal! ๐ฉโ๐ณโค๏ธ ๐ ๐๐ป๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ ๐๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฒ Tomato-based meat sauce with gnocchi โ similar sauce, but I wasnโt used to the gnocchi texture. โโ Dessert was a letdown thoughโฆ We were happily full and excited to try the tiramisu, butโฆ Looks like the mains are made by Italians and the desserts by Americans ๐ Way too sweet!! Even my homemade version is better. The โpistachio gelatoโ tasted overwhelmingly like cherry syrup โ so cloyingly sweet! All in all, this blind box scored about 80/100! Worth a visit โ just maybe skip dessert ๐ #Chicago #ChicagoEats #ItalianRestaurant #ItalianFood #RestaurantRecs #ChicagoLife
