Chicago|Brunch That Feels Like Afternoon Tea — Abrah Bakery 🍰
I’d heard about the Ukrainian café Soloway for a while but never visited. Then I saw their new sister bakery, Abrah Bakery, pop up on IG with an adorable brunch tower — so I grabbed a new friend and headed over! 🧺 Brunch Tower – Feels like a fancy afternoon tea but way more substantial. Bottom tier: Avocado smoked salmon toast (supposedly with caviar, but I didn’t spot any 😅) + scrambled eggs with cream cheese toast. Both were delicious and surprisingly filling! Middle tier: Slow-braised beef with capers. Top tier: Matcha raspberry macaron — unexpectedly amazing! Rich matcha cream with a raspberry center, like a grown-up version of White Lover chocolate. 🍹 Night Bloom – A lightly caffeinated fruity drink with berries, citrus, pomegranate, and a hint of coffee — floral, tangy, and lightly bitter. My friend ordered Cocoa Wave — cocoa foam over coconut water. 🥐 Kimchi Danish + Portuguese Egg Tart – The tart was perfectly sweet, not cloying. The kimchi danish? Surprisingly delicious — sweet, savory, and weirdly addictive. 🍯 Honey Cake – A lovely twist on the classic Ukrainian Medovik! Instead of buckwheat honey in the layers, they sprinkled toasted buckwheat on top for that earthy note. Rich, sweet, and best enjoyed with coffee. 🚫 Apricot Croissant – Too sweet from the glaze. Not a favorite. 🏡 Vibe & Tips – The space is cozy: a front counter for pastries and drinks to-go, and a small but charming dining area in back. Reservations recommended — it stayed full during our visit. A bit noisy for dates, but perfect for catching up with friends over great food. 📍 Abrah Bakery and Daily Bistro 2269 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614 #AbrahBakery #ChicagoBrunch #BrunchTower #UkrainianBakery #MatchaMacaron #HoneyCake
