Chicago|Gyu-Kaku Lunch Special — Only $20 for Yakiniku Heaven

Came from Madison to Chicago for a visa appointment and couldn’t pass up some good eats 🤤 Usually hit Gyu-Kaku at night for their all-you-can-eat, but today I found out their lunch sets are just $15.95 / $19.95 — so cheap! Plus, midday means fewer people, no wait, and quick service. We ordered two $19.95 sets — total of 6 meat choices between beef and pork. Wanted shrimp but they accidentally gave us something else 😭 Upgraded our rice to beef fried rice (+$5) and garlic fried rice (+$2). Tasted just as good as always — way better than the Madison location, tbh. Special shoutout to the beef fried rice (though my friend said it was a bit oily 😂). Portions were solid — even had some rice left. Total for two after tax & tip: $60. Side rant: Chicago VFS Visa Center — had a scheduled appointment but it was closed when I got there! No notification, no rescheduling email — so mad 😡 #Yakiniku #StudentEats #FoodieAdventure #JapaneseBBQ #ComfortFood #Chicago #ChicagoEats
