Chicago|Jeong – A Michelin-Star Restaurant with Great Value ✨

First week of the new year, revisited Jeong! Perfect for those with a light appetite 👸 The lighting is soft and romantic — great date spot. 1️⃣ Mussels – Chilled appetizer with cucumber + beef broth shavings — refreshing and unique. 2️⃣ Salmon Tartare – Gorgeous plating! Topped with crispy rice and yuzu-flavored meringue — tasted almost like a savory rice cracker. 3️⃣ Scallop – Best dish of the night! Perfectly seared, served with citrus sauce, spinach, and roe. They suggest eating everything together, but I loved scallop + citrus solo. 4️⃣ Creative Stone Pot Rice – Hmm… not my favorite. Rice was too firm, and it felt too plain next to the scallop. 5️⃣ Chicken – Tender little hen 🐤 with apple purée and sunflower seed sauce. 6️⃣ Wagyu – Melts in your mouth 🤤 Paired with smooth carrot purée. 7️⃣ Perilla Leaf Granita – A light, fragrant palate cleanser with buckwheat crunch. 8️⃣ Makgeolli Honeycomb – Rice wine ice cream (tasted fruity) + honeycomb + strawberry jelly. Strawberry jelly was sweet, but honeycomb + ice cream = perfection. The dishes here are all about layered flavors — everything is meant to be mixed and enjoyed together. As someone who loves complex tastes, I really appreciated that! 💰 Price: ~$190 per person with tip (no alcohol). Considering it’s Michelin-starred, the value is solid. Not a “must-visit,” but definitely worth trying — especially for those looking for Korean-inspired fine dining. 📍 Jeong 1460 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60642 📅 Reserve on OpenTable 3–5 days ahead — not too hard to book! #ChicagoEats #MichelinStar #JeongChicago #DateNight #FineDining #KoreanFusion
