Chicago|KYURAMEN🏮 Kūchū Ramen🍜 Omurice🍛
Recently visited KYURAMEN, a Japanese ramen spot in downtown Chicago that’s famous for its omurice (Japanese omelet rice)! 🥚🍚 Their omurice looks super duangduang — watching it get sliced open and drizzled with curry sauce is seriously satisfying 😍. You can even add crispy tonkatsu on top for that "Solitary Gourmet" style happiness ✨🍛. Here’s what we tried 👇: 🍛 Pork Tonkatsu Omurice|$23.99 Star of the show — that duangduang egg blanket is silky and soft, pairing perfectly with the savory curry sauce 😋. Note: Our tonkatsu was a bit cold and less crispy than expected, which took away from the texture a little. 🥬 Okonomiyaki|$8.49 A home-style Japanese savory pancake — fluffy inside with a slightly crispy edge, brushed with sweet-savory sauce and topped with bonito flakes & seaweed. Comfort food vibes 🥢. 🍗 Popcorn Chicken|$8.99 Crispy outside, bite-sized, and nicely seasoned — the kind of snack you munch on while chatting without even noticing it’s gone 😂🍿. 🐙 Takoyaki Octopus Balls|$9.99 Soft outside, chewy inside with little octopus pieces. Classic takoyaki flavor with sauce and seaweed — best eaten hot 🔥. 🍵 Matcha Pudding with Red Bean|$4.99 Light matcha aroma + sweet red beans = a refreshing, not-too-heavy dessert to wrap up the meal 🌿🫘. We definitely ordered too much for two people 😅. Skipping one appetizer (maybe the okonomiyaki) would have been just right. Food came out very fast — almost too fast — so some dishes felt like they had been prepped ahead and weren’t as hot as they could be. 📍 Address: 6 W Hubbard St, Chicago, IL 60654 #Chicago #ChicagoLife #ChicagoFood #JapaneseRamen #Omurice #KYURAMEN #ChicagoEats
