Chicago|New Downtown Mediterranean Spot — Tasty & Fresh 😋

A new Mediterranean restaurant just opened in Streeterville — lovely atmosphere 🌼 Since it’s new, bartenders start at 3pm on weekdays (so no cocktails earlier). But the drink menu leans toward less sweet options. The server mentioned the owner is from Slovenia (near Italy and Greece), and the food definitely reflects those flavors. 🥗 Charred Cauliflower & Beet Salad ($13) At Mediterranean spots, salads are always a safe bet. Lightly sweet, perfect to start — roasted cauliflower cooked just right, soft yet crunchy beets, crispy chickpeas, fresh romaine and arugula, and sweet mandarin oranges. Not a huge fan of Greek cheese (tastes a bit funky to me), but it’s easy to skip. Saw another table order the Goat Cheese Salad — looked amazing, trying that next time. 🦪 Oysters (6 for $17, 12 for $33) Currently only West Coast oysters — cleaned well and super fresh. Plump, sweet, and less briny than East Coast ones. Sauce is mild and doesn’t overpower. 🧈 Spreads|Chopped Beet Spread with Greek Yogurt ($12) Server recommended this — and they do beets really well here! The spread is thick, smooth, and creamy. Comes with fluffy, satisfying flatbread (not free though 😅). Only complaint: not enough bread for all that delicious dip! 🐟 Main|Branzino ($28) Very Greek-style — tomato and eggplant stew almost feels… Chinese? 🇨🇹 Great for Asian palates! The fish is tender, boneless, with crispy skin. ☀️ If the weather's nice, sitting outside with a breeze would be perfect 🤩 Overall — really tasty, will definitely return to try more! About $30+ per person before tip. 🌟 Nora Restaurant 📍 636 N St Clair St, Chicago, IL 60611 ⏰ 11am–9pm | Weekend brunch 10am–3pm #LocalEats #MediterraneanFood #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFoodie #ChicagoLife
