Chicago|Tita Mia's Filipino Restaurant & Cafe 🇵🇭🍽️

Located in the northwest suburb of Niles — just 10 minutes from the giant H Mart! On my first visit, I met Auntie Mia herself, a stylish Korean auntie who runs her own jewelry shop. Her Filipino husband manages the restaurant — there must be a beautiful love story behind it 💖 Every time I go, someone seems to be celebrating a birthday here. Feels like a place that holds special meaning in people’s hearts. 1️⃣ Tokwa At Baboy Crispy tofu + pork belly, soaked in toyomansi — a citrusy soy sauce that feels like a parallel evolution to Japanese ponzu! 🍊 2️⃣ Kaldereta A meat stew brought to the Philippines by the Spanish. Tomato-based with tender beef, liver, and Filipino sausage — hearty and rich! 🍅🍖 3️⃣ Guisadong Tahong Mussels stir-fried with ginger and garlic — fresh and aromatic! 🧄🐚 4️⃣ Sizzling Sisig A famous dish from Pampanga province — sizzling pork offal, here made with approachable pork belly. Other places add pig ears or chicken liver for extra flair! Topped with tangy calamansi and a touch of mayo. 🔥 5️⃣ Inihaw Na Bangus Fried milkfish — worth the 30–45 minute wait for that crispy fragrance! Served with toyomansi dip. 🐟🍋 6️⃣ Chicken Adobo Named by the Spanish but totally distinct from Iberian adobo — a Filipino classic braised with vinegar, soy, and spices. 🍗 7️⃣ Sinigang Filipino sour soup — tamarind brings the serious tang! Sour-lovers only 😆🍲 8️⃣ Crab Rangoon Some of the best I’ve had — super thin, crispy wrappers with creamy filling. 🦀✨ 9️⃣ Halo Halo Auntie Mia adds a Korean bingsu twist to this Filipino shaved ice dessert! Once mixed, the ice blends smoothly into the creamy ice cream — a true family-sized portion with no compromise 🙅 Save room for this! 🍨❄️ The cafe also sells lots of Filipino sweets and pastries. Definitely a spot I’ll return to again and again! 📍 Tita Mia's Filipino Restaurant & Cafe 8520 W Golf Rd, Niles, IL 60714 #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFood #FilipinoFood #TitaMias #ChicagoSuburbs #NilesEats #FamilyStyle
