Chicago|Unbelievably Bad Michelin Star 🌟 Boka Restaurant Week 🤢
Tried the Michelin one-star restaurant Boka with a friend during Chicago Restaurant Week to check out the city’s fine dining level. Price: $60 per person, plus a $35 truffle supplement. Overall, flavors were inconsistent, presentation was questionable, and they even added a 4% “surcharge” called “helping the restaurant”??? Ridiculous, Chicago restaurants… just look at the pics. 🤢 Cold Starters: • Beef Tartare – Okay, beef was tender and juicy. 👍🏻 • Cured Tuna – Disappointing. Dry, tough, weird seasoning—tasted like pickled wood barrel, hard to swallow. 🤢 Hot Starters: • Scallops – Creamy and delicate, fairly satisfying. 👍🏻 • Duck Leg Dumplings with Truffle – Also creamy, but the dumpling wrappers were thick. The truffle added zero aroma or flavor. 🤦♂️ Mains: • Roasted Chicken – Surprisingly tender and juicy! 👍🏻 • Cod – Terrible. Fish had no freshness or flavor, and the plating was among the top 3 ugliest I’ve seen. 🤢 Desserts: • Tried one each – Sadly, both were mediocre and forgettable. In short, the dining experience at Boka was basically inedible! Now I get that old joke: “America only has three states: New York, New Orleans, and Ohio.” How is this place a Michelin one-star? And they call Chicago the “little New York”? Crazy that a Michelin star could be this bad 😱 #RestaurantFail #Chicago #ChicagoFoodie #ChicagoTravel #MichelinDisappointment
